Election Information

The City of Wildomar is a General Law City governed by a five-member City Council. Members of the City Council are elected by district for a four year term. The City of Wildomar consolidates its election with the Riverside County Registrar of Voters who provides the voter registration, ballot materials, polling places and other activities. The City Clerk serves as the local Election's Officer and is responsible for issuing and receiving Nomination Papers and for the publication of all legal notices.  

November 3, 2020 Election

The City of Wildomar will be holding a Consolidated General Municipal Election on November 3, 2020, to elect one City Council Member for a full four-year term from District 4.

The nomination period to be listed on the ballot was between July 13, 2020 – August 7, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. That nomination period has officially closed.

The filing period to be a Write-In Candidate is between September 7, 2020 - October 30th at 5:00pm. Write-In Candidacy Nomination papers are issued by and filed with the City Clerk. Please contact the City Clerk to make an appointment.

The Election that was to be held in District 2 has been Cancelled and the nomination period has officially closed. Applications for write-in candidates will not be accepted.

City Clerk's Office Hours during the Nomination Period is Monday- Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Appointments are required. To request an appointment, please contact jmorales@cityofwildomar.org or call 951-297-3465.

Candidate Qualification

In order to qualify as a candidate, an individual must be:

  • 18 years of age
  • A Citizen of the United States
  • A Registered voter at their current address within the District they are running for.

Candidates are nominated by and voted upon by registered voters in their district. Elected Officials must continue to reside in the City limits of Wildomar, in the District in which they were elected, during their term of office.
